Ahera Asbestos Certification:

The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Occupational Safety And Health Administration (OSHA) both require asbestos-specific training for work involving asbestos. The OSHA rules apply to all construction work and use a very broad definition of construction. The EPA rules are based on the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act. (AHERA) Title II of the Toxics Substances Control Act Accreditation Program for states. This term includes residential apartment buildings with more than 10 units in the building. The EPA also has an Asbestos National Emission Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) that imposes additional requirements. The NESHAP applies to buildings, including residential apartments building with more than four units. Some states apply the asbestos model accreditation plan (MAP) training requirements to all building cover by the NESHAP.

Mold growth in buildings can lead to a variety of health problems. Various practices can be followed to mitigate mold issues in buildings, the most important of which is to reduce moisture levels that can facilitate mold growth.
